September 7, 2016 at 11:37 amHi!!! My name is Joy Silas, I just moved from Alaska to Manhattan, Kansas a few months ago. I am a mom of two, one girl and another baby on the way. Wow I love this post! I really needed to hear this! I have so many goals and plans, and lately I’ve been feeling like my goals are being put to the side because I am too busy watching and noticing what everyone else is doing. I spend so much time on social media, that likely Ive been taking breaks and trying to focus more on myself and what I want. Also, I have a capsule wardrode also! My biggest regret is, not having one soon enough! I love everything about it and I love all the items in my closet. I spend more time with my loved ones and not over shopping or feeling the need for having more then what I already have. Also, I’m saving way more money and that feels good too!

September 7, 2016 at 2:00 pmJoy, I’m so glad this touched you and congratulations!! I can totally relate to how you’re feeling. When I joined Instagram about two years ago I noticed a shift. Comparison became a big part of my thought process, and less time was focused on doing what I was passionate about. On top of it, I was getting ready to birth my second daughter, with a husband working LONG hours. What are some things you’d like to work on?…Also, I’m so excited to hear that you have a capsule wardrobe too. Do you know of other women with one as well? Is this popular now in the states? I’m actually going to be publishing a blog article about how every woman can create her own capsule wardrobe and feel those exact feelings you mentioned. Why waste time dreading getting dressed and wasting money that could be spent on chocolate and experiences with loved ones?! 🙂 I look forward to getting to know you more!XO

October 14, 2016 at 12:36 pmSorry! I just realized you responded back! Some of projects I want to work on is promoting and making more post on my blog. I want to become a doula and soon a midwife. Sometimes I feel like I use being an at home mom as an excuse not to get work done. I’ve lost motivation. I see other websites and I feel so overwhelmed because my blog needs a lot of work! And I don’t know anything about website designs! I’m a type A person so I want everything to be perfect before I let others see my work. So I don’t know where to begin. As of a capsule wardrobe, I think it’s a “trend” for some people in the US. I don’t know anyone personally with a capsule wardrobe besides my husband. He only shops once a year and is always donating clothes when he does shop. I adored that so I found out what he was doing was creating a capsule wardrobe. He had no idea he was doing that! I love his wardrobe because it comfortable and has investment pieces! Also, we have a lot in common! I was in the army for 3.5 years and now I travel the world with my husband who is still in the army! I read your bio and thought that was pretty awesome!

That’s so cool! We do have a lot in common. The military has played a huge role in my life (as a child and now as an adult).
I can totally relate to what you’re saying about wanting your website to be perfect and presentable before showcasing it to the world. Creating an online space that suits your personality and looks great is really tough! I blogged for years through BlogSpot and WordPress.com before taking the leap for a more professional platform and site. Don’t forsake the journey you’re on right now. As long as you keep your intentions in mind and slowly take steps toward your goal, I believe it will eventually come together. It’s definitely easy for us to slip into complacency when we stay at home, but don’t beat yourself up. I don’t believe that’s you. Create a list of things you’d like to do in the next week, month, 3 months, and then a year. Don’t make the list too heavy. Maybe three things under each. Then tell a friend or your hubby so that they hold you accountable. I’m super excited for you!!
So much love,
Anjelica
